I am a bit reflective today; a cross between sick of nothing being said by a boomer presidential group of candidates who are not discussing the aging of America, and boosted by some good posts, articles, quotes that make me (at least) feel better about aging.
First, a more scientific report that addresses the state of health care today. If you want a really focused and honest report, not a state of the union dream, check out the Institute of Medicine (IOM) recently release report on”Knowing What Works in Health Care: A Roadmap for the Nation”.

Is it me, or have I missed any of the presidential candidates reaching out to boomers and above for their vote? Nowhere is there more fervor than in this population, especially when it comes to managing health care and health costs. Isn’t anyone listening? The over 65 population counts for most health costs and it’s really not all their fault. But it will get worse as the boomers

So, anyone as depressed as I am over the economy, health care coverage? Getting ready for retirement? Not me, I will probably work forever based on the stock market declines, the general state of economy and rising healthcare costs, particularly for the aging population.

The call for change and the discontent with todays administration is apparent in a recent USA Today, Gallup Poll. Nothing in the poll is amazing, except for the low level response to the need for changes for the aging population. Perhaps no one over 65 reads that publication.
What is of no surprise is that almost everyone who particpated in the poll wants a different direction, change, from the current administration.
