The rush of the holiday season is now officially over, but the aftermath still remains. With our economy in shambles, watching the evening news is never a positive experience. So today I grabbed my brush and my paints, turned on some music and enjoyed the serenity of what I call “artistic meditation”. It doesn’t take much skill to create a series of simple paintings.
Chose a back ground color. Don’t be afraid to mix colors together. Use big clumps a paint to create a texturized effect. With painting, there is no right or wrong way, so just have fun with it! The colors and shapes that I chose mimic the theme I have going on in my living room and dining room. Accessories such as the pillows on my couch and the place mats on my dining room table, are all the same pattern. These paintings tie the two rooms together perfectly! I bought these canvases at Micheals on sale. You can get a pack of 2 for $10. What a deal! Happy painting!!

These are beautiful. I bet it was so relaxing painting them. What kind of paint did you use?

Very cool! I love the colors! I’m beginning to get back into drawing, and seeing this is pushing me along that path. Thanks!

I love the bold colors and emotional statement each painting makes! They remind me of one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes called The Midnight Sun. Any other Twilight Zone fans out there who remember this episode with Lois Nettleton?

Thank you for the compliments! Painting is very relaxing. I used acrylic paints for these. I saw in the paper yesterday that all Liquitex Basics brand acrylic paints were on sale at Michaels. They have canvases on sale too!
