Some of the finest fabric’s and threads in the world were on display at the Baltimore Art Show this year. Candiss Cole was most impressive. Her Euro collection really pushed the envelope with it’s combination of color and texture. I also enjoyed some of the pieces in her Ikat-Shibori collection. Known for her multi-functional pieces, Chicago-based fashion designer Ping Wu has discovered a unique way to demonstrate that form as well as function can coexist. A small crowd of people gathered around Wu’s booth as she demonstrated the possibilities that one article of clothing from her collection could transform into three or four different functions.
