Favorite fashion designers from the Baltimore Art Show

Some of the finest fabric’s and threads in the world were on display at the Baltimore Art Show this year. Candiss Cole was most impressive. Her Euro collection really pushed the envelope with it’s combination of color and texture. I also enjoyed some of the pieces in her Ikat-Shibori collection. I liked how she exaggerated the collars in both collections. Check out her work at www.candisscole.com

Known for her multi-functional pieces, Chicago-based fashion designer Ping Wu has discovered a unique way to demonstrate that form as well as function can coexist. A small crowd of people gathered around Wu’s booth as she demonstrated the possibilities that one article of clothing from her collection could transform into three or four different functions. Not only was it a scarf, but it could also be worn as a hat or an arm sweater! Check out her website at www.pingwudesignstudio.com to view all of her collections.

I like the bottom designs, but what is an arm sweater?

It looks like a tube scarf that you can stick your arms in! I think it’s her newest creation. I haven’t seen it on her website yet, but she had one at the art show. They are priced at about $240.
