Ronni Bennett of Time Goes By (one of my favorite blogs, read it here ) wrote the other day about electronic medical records (EMR). Her focus was on should they be online? Personally I don’t want to go there with the online issue and it was covered by Ronni. That said, our medical director presented to some people on the hill regarding EMRs and he believes that seniors should have EMRs.

A Review of Erickson Health Accomplishments in 2007 The electronic medical record is an incredibly important tool because it helps store and communicate information related to the health care of a patient. Doctors rely on information to make good medical decisions. The better and more comprehensive the information, the better the recommendations of the physician are likely to be.

Recently, the group of physicians, nurse practitioners, and other health professionals at Erickson Health held their annual meeting. The focus of this group of is on people 65 and older. You see, they truly understand the natural aging process and the potential affect this has on getting and treating chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, diabetes and more. Erickson Health is not a thing….it’s physician designed services and people that create a “live life to its fullest” lifestyle.
