Erickson launched a new booth at the AARP convention in Washington DC which started yesterday. Deb Dasch, the editor of the Erickson Tribune, and I walked the floors of the huge convention center to get a taste of the convention and to entice people to visit our new booth. It was great fun, tiring, but also overwhelming. So much going on and so little time to take it all in.
What I learned from the vast groups of people with whom I got to speak is this: 1) Most in attendance seemed to be over 60;2) Lots of couples who come with other couples and use this as a “safe, afffordable, vacation time where you can actually learn”; 3) Even large numbers of people who come as individuals for the same reasons mentioned above.
I got to see Dr Ruth who is now going to write a montly column for the Erickson Tribune starting in November. Here is some of the press release and her picture (her hair is actually longer and blonder now).
