Facebook and older people, new trend

According to a recent story on MSNBC, more and more of the 65 or better population are joining social networks, especially MySpace and Facebook. Reason? They like seeing their grandchildren’s pictures; finding friends they haven’t seen in years and simply staying in touch.

Should the Internet Be Your Health Expert?

Recent studies confirmed that most of us over 60 who use the Internet, search for health information. But the question is: how much of it is true? How much pertains specifically to you? And, should the Internet replace talking to your doctor?

Last year, our Erickson Tribune health section did a story on this. I wanted to share some of that information with you as a caution that not everything you read on the Internet is true across the board; other factors influence health, including age. Should the Internet be YOUR health expert? Read the full story
