SILVER SPRING, MD – On March 9, the Montgomery County, Maryland, Commission on Children and Youth awarded Riderwood the 2009 Nancy Dworkin Award for Outstanding Service to Youth in the “organization” category. This annual award, co-sponsored by the Commission, Gazette Newspapers and Adventure Theatre, recognizes Riderwood for its commitment and dedication to serving young people in Montgomery County. The award ceremony took place at 7:45 p.m. at Adventure Theatre in historic Glen Echo Park in Glen Echo, Md.

SILVER SPRING, MD – More than ever, doctors’ offices throughout the county have become more like a treadmill, maintaining rosters of thousands of patients. In an era with expanding concierge or boutique medicine (a practice in which a patient pays a large annual fee or retainer to obtain enhanced care), shared medical appointments (when a physician sees a group of patients at one time), and medical practices requiring full deductible payments in advance of an exam, Riderwood has become a haven for local physicians who desire to become a part of a more progressive health care model.
