Gender Bias and the Media
Hillary Clinton is a class act and she knocked it out of the park, or convention, last night. She spoke with heart and passion and was very classy. I watched CNN. I can’t watch MSNBC anymore due to that Bill Reilly wannabe Chris Matthews. The night he said on the air that the only reason Hillary was getting votes was because her husband was unfaithful to her was the last time I watched MSNBC.
Chris Matthews, to me, is representative of sexism and gender bias at its best. Sometime after this guffaw, Chris appeared on the Ellen show and stated he was for Barack Obama. Now, there is a class media maniac: what objectivity! Hear the first part of Hillary’s speech last night at the convention. This woman deserves to be referred to in the manner Chris Matthews did? You be the judge:

No matter who you vote for, or who or what you believe in, I don’t believe you dismiss gaining knowledge and information about products you use, and candidates for public office. To dismiss that because someone is a woman, or a man, is a dismissal and injustice, disrespect for all of us.
A while back there was a Pew Poll on the media and the public and the public’s perception that the media was not doing its job on reporting objectfully and with non-bias on the presidential campaign. Chris Matthews is the poster child for this , in my humble opinion.
Here is his comments:

What’s your view on gender bias? Did it play a role in the campaign? Does it play a role in the media? Do you think ageism is alive and well also?

I saw the speech and have been searching blogs for how people are responding. Have not seen a bad one yet (did not go to msnbc, hahahaha)…in fact most are questioning Obama for not picking her as his VP.

So I watch CNN. they are pretty good. I don’t think the media get that they were the polarizing factor in the Hillary campaign. Good post, thanks
