I did the best I could this tournament and my score was better than usual—at least for me. Our team, however, had an ‘off day’—our best players usually do much better. The only strategy that our team had going into the tournament was that we wanted to win!

We had a good crowd out there supporting us, although I think it would have been even better if Greenspring had publicized the tournament. I can’t think of any specific high points or low points, but I am fairly confident that we will bring the trophy home to Greenspring.

The team did not do as well as we hoped, we got hit with a lot of splits that really hurt. I was satisfied with my performance. I did as well as I could have hoped for. Our strategy was focus, focus, focus. Looking back, we probably didn’t focus as well as we should have. Falling a bit below our expectations was definitely the low point of the tournament, but I think we still have an outside chance of winning the trophy.

Much of the preliminary filming was interesting, but finally getting to bowl was the high point of the tournament. The lights and camera were not a factor, but the delays in-between games were a negative factor.

I expected more people from Greenspring to show up, but those that were there were very enthusiastic.

Some of the other teams had A LOT more time to prepare for the tournament…we had to rush, rush, rush! We also didn’t have time to really develop a strategy. Considering that, I would say we weren’t too bad.

Greenspring residents came out to show their support and even though I bowled four splits in the first game, it felt great to hear my grandson yell “GO GRANDMA!” over the crowd.

I failed to bowl my average, but I still had a reasonable score. As a team, we were off of our average by about 100.

I would say we have a 20% chance of brining the trophy home, but I had a great time and enjoyed all of the support the community showed!
