Little Sib

Carolyn Sibley- Little Sib

Our team had so much confidence and cheered each other on throughout all three games, so I think that really helped our performance. Personally, my strategy was to stay calm and bowl to the best of my ability and I think that helped my performance during the tournament. I had a slow start, with the lowest point being my second game, but I came back during the third game and actually bowled my highest score EVER! My fellow teammate Lefty and I each bowled three strikes in a row during that third game.

So while I think there was some added pressure because of the video production and I think more residents could have came and cheered us on, I believe the team did well and I¹m hoping for the trophy. We did practice and personnel here at OCV were so supportive and encouraging!”

I’m not very optimistic about our tournament performance. As a team I think we performed at a lower level than expected and individually I didn’t play very good. The lowest point of the tournament was the second game, which was the game where I had my lowest score. The high point of the tournament was definitely Little Sib’s high score during the

third game. However, I don’t expect to bring the trophy back to Oak Crest. The camera and lights added a lot of extra pressure, and while we had some residents cheering us on, there wasn’t a lot of community support.

I think I performed poorly during the tournament. My husband and I both had below average scores during the second game and we didn’t have a definite strategy going into the tournament.
Overall, however, I think the Mighty Oaks had a fair performance. Having to take a break between games for interviews added pressure and took us out of our rhythm. Little Sib’s enthusiasm and high score during the third game really helped us and was the bright spot of the tournament. I’m not 100% confident that we’ll win the trophy, but other teams will be under the same pressure so we still have a chance.

Queen of Spares

I am 110% sure we will the trophy!

There is no doubt that our team had an absolutely, positively GREAT performance. We put our all in each and every ball that we rolled. And being known as the Queen of Spares, I think I lived up to my name. Although we wanted to bowl more strikes, we ended up with a lot more spares. So I guess I did what I do best!

There was a little bit of added pressure because of the lights and camera, but I think it was because I didn’t want to look fat on camera, not because of my bowling. Plus, residents who live at Oak Crest and staff members that work here all came out to support us, so there was no low point to the tournament. And the high point of the tournament was every time we bowled a STRIKE—so we had a lot of those!
